Five Killed by Dangote Truck along Agbor/Abraka Road

Five persons were fear dead by a Dangote trailer driver that lost control along Sapele/Agbor road Ebedei in Ukwuani Local Government area of Delta State.

The incident which occurred on March 29, 2014  at about 5.00pm, an eye witness account told our correspondent that the affected persons mostly on Motor Bike were returning from a funeral ceremony when suddenly a Dangote Trailer driver coming from Warri axis and heading towards Abuja direction lost control and swung into the opposite side and crashed five persons  who were said to have been coming back from a burial rite they attended within the town.

 Narrating further, the eye witness  disclosed that the driver who crash the five persons dead in a high speed, refuse to stop despite several attempt made by different people to stop him, rather he escape towards Agbor axis, the source said.

However, when the Police at Umutu was  alerted over the ugly incident, another source revealed that immediately  the Police spread out its drag-net to different direction, pointing out that the fleeing driver was intercepted while attempting to divert through Onitcha-Ugbo road via Ekporma/Abuja road.

Meanwhile,  when the Ndokwa Reporters visited the scene of the incident, scattered dead bodies were seen at the edges of the road, just as more than 100 people including road users who packed their vehicles were seen gathered in groups discussing  the urgly situation.

 At the District police headquarters Umutu the DPO could not be reach for comment as he was said to have gone out for official assignment outside the station.

However, a competent source close to the police station confirmed the report.
