Commissioning of the Obiaruku Anti-Natal Hospital

Ante-natal building valued at N44 million naira, which was built and donated to Obiaruku general Hospital, by Sir, Ken Okolugbo via DESOPADEC has been commissioned

The commissioning which took place on April 14, 2014 at exactly 10.32 witnessed a large crowd of people who came to appreciate the Ultra Modern Ante-Natal building, constructed by Ken Okolugbo.

Commissioning the Ante-Natal building on behalf of the DESOPADEC Chairman, Oritsua Kogho, the commissioner representing Ndokwa Nation in DESOPADEC, Sir Ken Okolugbo said that DESOPADEC decided to build the Ultra-modern  Ante-Natal building, based on the state governor’s interest and concern about  infant mortality.

According to him, “the beautiful thing is that our state governor, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan is so passionate about  infant  mortality, pointing  out that when he Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan assumed office as the state governor in 2007 he immediately swung into action by carrying out free medical care which according to him, was jeered, towards reducing the number of death of, “most our women who die during child birth, pointing out that the reason for such sudden death may not be unconnected with non availability of equipment, or as a result of  lack of care, stressing that when Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan came on board he went into action by vigorously placing interest and passion on infant mortality which according to him led to him carrying-out free medical care, adding that base on this, DESOPADEC decided to key into the programme.

Speaking further, Okolugbo disclosed that DESOPADEC has awarded a health center at Amai in Ukwuani Local Government, stressing that the aim was to teach life which every living being knows that health is wealth. He also announced that in a short while the Ante-Natal building will be equipped accordingly.

Those in attendance were the Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Henry Agbenedion, the Senior Hospital Adminisrtaor, Mr. Agbelogode, and the Chief Nursing Officer Mr. Ajuebor S.E Ogbumeka Chiekem Dafe, the president Ogbe Obiaruku Development Association, Mr. Fred O.N Esimobi, the president Obiaruku Community Development Association, Mr. Kaina Patrick and more.
