EBOLA: PPL Organises Awareness Campaign

As part of her corporate social responsibility (CSR) the platform petroleum limited and her joint partner, New Cross Petroleum limited, has organized an Ebola awareness program.

The program which was held at Delta Palace Hotel, Obinomba, was witnessed by representatives of the four host communities within her operational base.

Speaking at the occasion, the Managing Director, Mr Emmanuel Konyebagu, told the gathering to be conscious of their health, as he said “Ebola Virus Disease is real”.

During the session, the Managing Director and Consultants of Vetmoore Clinic, Warri, who was assisted by Dr Precious Oduasebor, gave graphic details of the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) and adviced that all necessary precaution be taken to avoid the disease because it has no drug for now.

The people were told to take the issue of hand washing very serious, and avoid contact with suspected cases or eating of monkeys, bats or be close to dead bodies, and promptly report any abnormal signs to the appropriate authorities.

However, it was resolved that for the Ebola session to be effective, the awareness talk should be taken to the individual host communities.

Based on wide acceptance of the Ebola Health talk, the companies would organize the health session in the four host communities.
