The Delta State Governorship Election in 2015 has witnessed the activities of members of the various parties picking their intention forms to run as candidate and flag bearer of their party in the 2015 General Election
One of the entrants to the race is Ogbuefi (Mrs) Ndidi Ujomor-Abanum from Amai, and married to Ezhionum in Ukwuani LGA of Delta State; a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) picked her form at the PDP National Headquarters, Abuja on October 22, 2014, in company of her supporters.
Ogbuefi Ujomor-Abanum, who is the president and founder of the “Initiative for Nation Building” a non-governmental organisation, said she is joining the race to continue the development of Delta State.
The philanthropist and politician told newsmen after collecting her form that being a woman does not have anything to do with governance. She said she will bring her administrative experience to bear in the governance of the state.
When asked that while picking the form without consultation, she said “It is not when you go on air, print billboards, organise public rallies that shows that you are consulting, I had being doing that” she concluded.
According to Ogbuefi Abanum, she is not new in the activities and running of governments as she had being around when former first lady, Mariam Babaginda heard sway in the country, especially with her programme “Better Life for rural Women” which was centred on the rural and poor women of Nigeria.
