Ogbuefi Ndidi Ujomor-Abanum, a high profile and credible aspirant for the Delta State Governorship elections in 2015, Ogbuefi has expressed full confidence over her chances of clinching the governorship ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP ticket and subsequently coasting home to victory in the 2015 governorship polls in the state.
Ogbuefi Ujomor-Abanum, who spoke exclusively to select newsmen in Asaba, ahead of the screening exercise for Delta state Governorship aspirants in Port Harcourt on Saturday, November 22, 2014, said that her entrant into the Delta State governorship race was to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor and provide real and positive leadership change in Delta State come 2015.
Ujomor-Abanum said: “I don’t want to say much right now until after the screening but i want to assure my dear people of Delta State that my mandate is to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor in the state”.
Ogbuefi (Mrs) Ndidi Ujomor-Abanum, who hails from Amai, Ukwuani LGA in Delta State, picked her expression of interest and nomination forms at the PDP National Headquarters, Abuja on October 22, 2014, in company of her supporters, and affirmed that she was the aspirant to beat in the elections and was joining the race to continue the development of Delta State, adding confidently that she would subsequently unfold her strategies for a better Delta state once her screening had been completed.
Delta political watchers will recall that Ogbuefi Ujomor-Abanum, who is the president and founder of the “Initiative for Nation Building”, a non-governmental organization, had earlier told newsmen after collecting her forms, that being a woman does not have anything to do with governance, as she would bring her administrative experience to bear in the governance of the state.
The philanthropist and politician, who hinted that she would release details of her campaign programme soon, equally asserted that it is not those who go on air, print billboards, organize public rallies that shows that they are consulting, adding that she had already embarked on wide consultations across the state and the positive answers and encouragement she has received had informed her decision.
Amai, Ezhionum Communities Endorse Ujomor Abanum
Amai and Ezhionum communities have endorsed Ogbuefi Mrs. Ndidi Ujomor Abanum to contest for the governorship election come2015.
The endorsement came as a result of her consultation visit to the two Communities in Ukwuani on Saturday, 15 November, 2014 to declare her intention to run as a governor come 2015.
During the visit to Amai, Ogbuefi Ujomor-Abanum, told the large crowd of PDP and community representatives that her reason to join the reason is to bring development to the people of the state.
Also, at the Palace of the Ezi of Ezhionum the monarch blessed Ogbuefi NdidI Ujomor Abanum and assured her of the support of the entire Ezhionum Communities.
