Ukwuani LG Boss Tasks Media on Fair Reportage, As Management of Ndokwa Reporters Pays Courtesy call

Ukwuani Local Government Area Chairman, Barr. Ndudi Benedicta Osakunih-Izuegbu has charged the media to always balance their stories before going to press.
She made the statement when the key management and staff of the Ndokwa Reporters newspaper paid her a courtesy visit on the 17th-11-2014
Osakunih stated that since her appointment as Special Adviser to the Governor on Community Relations, she had used the press to inform the various communities about the activities of Government, noting that her administration will work with the media as well to disseminate information of her policies to all nooks and crannies of the Local Government.
According to her, Journalists who indulged in malicious reportage would not get the best from his subject, rather would end up loosing patronage from the public, noting that the primary function of the media is to” inform, educate and entertain the people”, she stated.DSC_5876
The Chairman noted that her administration would carry the press along in order to inform and educate the people about the policies and programme of the Ukwuani Local Government Area.
Barr. Osakunih promised to partner with the Ndokwa Reporters newspaper in the process of moving Ukwuani Local Government forward.
In his address, the publisher of the Ndokwa Reporters newspaper, Mr.Emmanuel Enebeli noted that the courtesy visit was to congratulate her on her election victory and to seek ways to assist the Chairman in reporting and educating the people about programme and policies of Government.
Enebeli said that apart from the newspaper section, the group has other Communication options like the online services, Radio and Television services which are waiting to be harnessed; just as he sought for the Chairman’s assistance to enable the organisation achieve this noble vision of transmitting Community based information timely to the entire world.
