Buhari to be Guest at Chatham House February 26, 2015

The presidential candidate for Nigeria, All Progressive Candidates, Mr Mohamadu Buhari will be a guest at the prestigious Chatham House, London on Thursday, 26 February 2015.
According to the announcement at the official website, http://www.chathamhouse.org, the other guest will be the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Sir Richard Gozney KCMG CVO KStJ, between 2004 -2007, who will be chairman of the occasion.
The statement further stated that the event will feature topic on: Prospects for Democratic Consolidation in Africa: Nigeria’s Transition, a one hour event that will be held between 10am to 11am.
An overview of the program states that,
The postponement of Nigeria’s fifth election since its return to civilian rule in 1999, together with fierce political competition, a security crisis and severe economic challenges linked to the drop in oil price, have thrown into sharp relief the challenges of conducting this essential process in such a complex environment. While there is widespread speculation as to the reasons for the delay, there is also widespread acknowledgment of the necessity that national elections do now take place as scheduled on 28 March.
General Muhammadu Buhari, former military ruler (1983-85) and now opposition presidential candidate, will discuss the importance of democracy for Africa’s future, and in particular why delivering dividends of elected government matter both to Nigeria and internationally.
It concluded that the programme will be live streamed and encouraged those that will participate to register at the of Tuesday, 24 February 2015.
