The NNU Executives and the Youths Wing
The Ndokwa Neku Union, (NNU) the apex body of the Ndokwa nation is ready to dissolve the newly inaugurated youth wing led by Comr. Marcus Enudi.
The information reaching Ndokwa Reporters, said the body after considering recent happenings with the inaugurated youth wing, had called on the youths to put the house in order or face dissolution within one week.
Ndokwa Reporters gathered that there had been complains since the inauguration of the youth body about the leadership of the group, especially as the constitution establishing the youth wing of the union specified the age limit of 35 years, but the current leader is presumed to be above 40 years. Another unconfirmed report was the issue of the N50 million, fresh graduate empowerment training that was due to the youths of Ndokwa Nation from the 2014 Federal Appropriation Bill, championed by the Honourable member representing Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency, Hon. Ossai Nicolas Ossai.
According to our investigation, some of the new executive members who are not fresh graduates, and are working went for the training at Abuja for two weeks, thus depriving the needy Ndokwa youths from benefiting, the youths are feeling that the present crop of the new leadership will not help the average Ndokwa youth.
However, according to our investigation the final decision was reached after the recent visits by the governorship candidates of the three main political parties in Delta state, visited Ndokwa nation to formally inform them of their intention to run for the governorship seat of Delta state, where youths laid siege at the home of the President-General of NNU, Pharm Paul Osogbue Enebeli, at Umuachi-Afor, Ndokwa East LGA, prevented the guests from leaving the venue except they, the youths get their full share of the money giving to the NNU on the day Barr Peter Nwaboshi, the senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) for Delta North and the PDP Governorship candidate, Senator Arthur Okowa visited.
According to one of the youths present, Mr Victor Chukwuemeke, “the act of blocking the home of the President-General of the Ndokwa people by Ndokwa youths was bad. The youth body should look more into the emancipation of the Ndokwa land rather than fight, and sharing money”. He said.
Report reaching Ndokwa Reporters said the NNU executive gave the youth body the sum of one hundred thousand Naira, in addition to the Two hundred thousand giving to the youths by Senator Okowa, thus making it Three hundred thousand naira, but the extra one hundred thousand was rejected by thy youth executives, because according to them, “how can they be giving that amount out of One Million Naira”.
Speaking to Ndokwa Reporters, one of the youth leaders from Ukwuani LGA, and who attended the inauguration, and wish to remain anonymous, said the order to the youth wing to mend their house within one week is not surprising, because since inauguration no formal meeting to formally structure the running of the body for the benefits of the entire Ndokwa youths had been held, but rather the new Exco had been using the name of the body to move round the country, paying visits, and writing letters to companies in Ndokwa Land. According to the youth activists, “we must sit together, reason together, and work together to take Ndokwa out of the present neglects, enough is enough”. He concluded.
