In line with his passion and desire to enhance an even and holistic development of Ndokwa nation, the Deputy Speaker, Delta State House Assembly, Rt. Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi, recently led a team of political office holders from Ndokwa Nation to kick start a consultation and familiarization tour of traditional and community leaders in the area. The visit which was packaged to afford the Deputy Speaker the opportunity to introduce members representing Ndokwa Nation on the Board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission ( DESOPADEC) to the traditional and opinion leaders, reassure Ndokwa people of their resolve to be united for the purpose of development, sort the opinion of the traditional leaders on projects and programs and to thank the people for their support and prayers for Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
The Deputy Speaker addressing the Ukwuani Traditional Rulers Council and the people at the Palace of His Royal Highness Comr. Evang. R. C Osanwuta, Ezhie 1 of Ezionum Kingdom, the first point of call; told them of their resolve to be united as political office holders for the interest of Ndokwa people, noting that the government of Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has better plans for Ndokwa nation, as evident in his recent appointments; but revealed that the only viable key for attracting uncommon democratic dividends was for all political office holders from Ndokwa extraction to be united and speak in harmony.
Expressing their preparedness to work in harmony for the good and progress of Ndokwa Nation, the Deputy Speaker said: “Eze-Udo sir, in our resolve to work in unity as your sons, we have come today to present to you, our people appointed to represent us, the Ndokwa People in DESOPADEC, and to also inform you that very soon, they will be moving from community to community in consultation with the people and our traditional leaders, to take a first hand assessment of our people’s developmental needs. Be informed also that Projects that will be sited in our places will be projects that the people suggest and present to DESOPADEC during such visits. We are ready to transform Ndokwa land, and Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa loves Ndokwa people and he is ready to change our land for good.”
In the entourage of the Deputy Speaker were, Hon. Azuka Azaka, Member representing Ndokwa West in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Christopher Ochor Ochor, Executive Director, DESOPADEC, Hon. Oputa Fidelix ( Flenjor), Member Representing Ndokwa West in DESOPADEC ; Hon. Ezechi Nnamdi, Member Representing Ndokwa East in DESOPADEC, Mr. F Aniche, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on project monitoring, Comr. Benjamin Onwubolu, Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth and Community Development and other political office holders. Hon. Alphonsus Ojo, representing Ukwuani Local Government Area in the State House of Assembly, was excused for an urgent engagement in Port-Harcourt.
The member representing Ndokwa West in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Azuka Azaka, earlier said that the unity and advancement of Ndokwa Nation was of paramount importance to the Deputy Speaker and other members of the delegation. Here him: ” We have come to thank you. And to tell you that We have God on our side. Today we have the youngest Deputy Speaker in Nigeria. We have come to thank you and introduce members representing us in DESOPADEC, to you.”
Speaking unbehalf of the members representing Ndokwa nation in DESOPADEC, Hon. Christopher Ochor Ochor expressed their commitment to attract more projects to Ndokwa people and pledged their unalloyed loyalty to the people.
” we have come to thank you for your support sir, and to assure you of our loyalty and to share what ever that come our area. With the Deputy Speaker’s leadership quality, I am assured that it’s the right time to deliver, there’ll be peace within us and we’ll continue to work as brothers.” Hon. Ochor said.
At the Palace of His Royal Majesty, Isaac Obi, the Oduasa 1 of Utagba-Ogbe Kingdom, the monarch said that he’s confident of the Leadership of Governor Okowa and Rt. Hon. Friday Osanebi, because they have been working and doing well before now. “They are men of vision and I am confident they will deliver” He said, and further charged political office holders to always remember their people and thanked them for the show of respect.
