Police Smash Child Traffickers, Arrests Armed Robbery Gang

The Delta state police command has smashed a house used for inter-state child trafficking at Asaba and arrested the occupants Nkiru Asouza and her husband Chidiebele Udeagbala who were perpetrators of abduction and kidnapping, the police in Asaba disclosed this during a press briefing at the State Police Headquarters, Asaba.Kidnapped Children

The suspects who confessed to the crime, led the Delta State Anti-Robbery squad (SARS) to Onitsha where Mary Bassey Okon was arrested and four suspected trafficked children of about 1-5years were rescued.
The police were also led by the suspects to Akwa-Ibom state where one Ekaete Sunday and three others were arrested and two additional trafficked children with two pregnant girls-Nancy Atume and Chidimma Johnson of about 18years were also rescued.

Meanwhile, the police said they had handed Chidimma Johnson and six children over to the ministry of women affairs Delta state while Nancy Atume was handed over to her parents.Kidnapped Suspects

The Delta state police boss advices parents from Akwa-Ibom and Cross-River states whose children are missing to report to Delta state police command to check if theirs are among the children rescued and warned parents to ensure proper custody of their children in and out of school.
Meanwhile, the State Police Command in the struggle to rid the state off hoodlums in the ember months has gunned down three armed robbers who has been terrorizing Warri/Effurun and her environs at Apala road after a fierce gun battle, the gangsters who were attempting to carry out a massive armed launch on unsuspecting members of the public when police interceded, Items recovered from the hoodlums includes 2 AK47, AK49, K2 riffle, 43 rounds of AK ammunition and a Vento car.
In another development, One Mr Ovie Onodje and Zachaeus Ekakite had being arrested for stealing dredging equipment’s valued at about two million naira, which were removed from a dredging site at Aladja, Udu LGA in Delta State.
Also arrested were Osas Ike and 2 others along airport road while trying to open a parked car with a master key, the suspects have confessed to several other operations within the Warri metropolis and during a spot search, two master keys, charms and a total sum of #419,000 were recovered.
