The Chairman of agency, Dr Isioma Okobah, stated this while addressing Local Immunization Officers (LIOs) in Asaba during the monthly meeting of staff in the agency.

The chairman emphasized that routine immunization was key towards the prevention of deformities and killer diseases among children, enjoining the LIOs to develop specific plan and activities to reduce the number of high immunized children.

She also encouraged the LIOs to carry out data quality checks at the health facilities and do periodic outreaches to areas with difficult terrain to ensure potent vaccines get to the target population.

In a related development, the Chairman of the Delta State Primary Health Care Development Agency (DSPHCDA) has called on Local Immunization Officers (LIOs) to sustain the high standard of practice left behind by retired LIOs.

Dr. Okobah who made the call during the send forth party held for four (4) retired LIOs, admonished those still serving to emulate their good legacies of their predecessors.

She pointed out that the elevation of the retired Isoko South LIO to the position of Chairman Local Government Health Authority was a recognition of her outstanding commitment in the discharge of her duties.
