By Emmanuel Enebeli

ASABA/Nigeria:  The Delta state government had tasked the 2017 Pilgrims to the Holy Land of Israel to avoid anything that will bring embarrassment to the state, Nigeria and to them as persons.

This warning was giving by the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Religious Matters, Bishop Greatman Nmalagu on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 during the briefing and orientation for intending pilgrims at the Christian Association of Nigeria Secretariat, Asaba.

He admonished the intending pilgrims to fear God, who gave them the opportunity through the state government by doing the right thing and abstaining from any act of sin.

“Let us fear sin because it attracts curse most especially when you know the right thing to do but you wilfully refuse it for evil. It is a sin to disobey the rules and regulations of the trip. It is also a sin to indulge yourself on things that are contrary to the Holy Bible”.

He reminded them that the essence of the trip is to pray, see some of the sites heard from preachers of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

“Our trip to Israel for pilgrimage is to pray, physically see some of the sites we heard from preachers and teachers of the gospel of Jesus Christ which we have also read in the Bible”.

He reminded them to fear failing to achieve their aims for going on the trip, which emanates from not having the fear of God.

“It is a failure not to fear God and sin as that will make you to miss the reasons of going to the Holy Land. It is a spiritual and special journey. Thus, let us faithfully keep off from every form of evil”.

“As a spiritual journey let use the privilege to pray for Delta state, Nigeria and ourselves so that we will be blessed and not cursed. No evil brings blessing, but evil attract curse”.

Bishop Nmalagu cautioned against the intention of any of the pilgrims to sneak and enter Israel illegally, and warned that it is sin do that during the journey.

“Is a sin to sneak away to another country illegally. You have heard it “No evil brings blessings. Therefore, do not be involved in such evil habit”.
