Ndokwa Nation Launches Mega Political Pressure Group

KWALE/Nigeria: History was made weekend as Ndokwa politicians came together to start up Ndokwa Political Future (NPF) the first ever all-encompassing umbrella political pressure group in Ndokwa Nation.

The inaugural meeting of the group which was held at the Ndokwa Daughters and Wives Development Centre, Kwale had the Who is who in Ndokwa politics in attendance.

According to Hon Aneke Ifemeni the convener, of the forum, was founded on the principles of repositioning Ndokwa Nation for recognition; be the voice of the people not for one particular political party; to ensure that Ndokwa land and the people get good dividends of democracy.

Also,the group is said to help front and attract development to Ndokwa Nation; they commended the Delta State Governor, Sen. Dr Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa for his administration’s developmental projects across Ndokwa Nation.

Meanwhile, Chief Godwin Iwegbue while delivering a lecture on “Ndokwa Political Future and Economic Development”, that Ndokwa Nation is richly blessed and as such should not remain in perpetual political slumber; advocated that NPF should be taking seriously by Ndokwa people even as he commended the initiators.

Rt. (Hon) Olise Imegwu who was one of the guest lecturers at the occasion, commended the conveners, and called for a strong, active and vibrant body.

In his lecture, titled, “Ndokwa Nation Remaining Relevant in Niger Delta and in Nigeria politics”, he charged the Ndokwa Youths and particularly those that are delegates in their respective political parties to vote with wisdom and choose credible persons that will uphold the people’s mandate in trust after elections.

The one time Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, noted that for Ndokwa Nation to remain relevant in the scheme of things in the country that their voting strength should be improved on, according to him, all Ndokwa sons and daughters that are of age should register and get their PVCs.

In their various contributions during the interactive session, members of the group commended the initiators and conveners of Ndokwa Political Future (NPF) while calling on all the political office holders and representatives of Ndokwa Nation in any capacity to identify with the group, grow it, and make it formidable in Delta State and in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, the group adopted Chief Mike Uwaka as their leader while High Chief Philip Onyekweni will be his deputy pending the constitution of a full-fledged executive. While Chief Godwin Iwegbue, was made an elder statesman of the group.
