Delta to Host 62ND National Council on Health Meeting

ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State has won the hosting rights for the 62nd National Council on Health meeting, tagged NCH 2019.

The Honorable Minister of Health, Prof. Issac Adewole, made the pronouncement at the recently concluded 61st National Council on Health meeting (NCH) held in Kano, Kano State.

The 61st NCH was held in coronation Hall Government House from June 19th through June 22nd, with the theme: “The Second National Strategic Health Development Plan: A Road Map for Achieving Universal Health Coverage”.

The conference was declared open by the Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje (OFR).

The Honourable Minister of Health, Prof Adewole and the Honourable Minister of State for Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, talked about better health for all through revitalized Primary Health Care Service Delivery, Effective implementation strategies for National Strategic Health Development Plan II and Way forward, and Predictable Financing and Risk Protection for Health.

The conference attracted 36 states and Federal Capital Territory (FCT), commissioners, permanent secretaries, executive directors of state primary health care development agencies and health development partners.

The Delta State team led by the Honorable Commissioner for Health, Dr Mordi Ononye, had the Chairman Delta State Primary Health Care Development Agency Dr Isioma Okobah, Director General of the Delta State Contributory Health Commission, Dr Ben Nkechika.
