Edo North 2019: Alimikhena Challenge Momoh to a Public Debate
ETSAKO/Nigeria: Senate Deputy Whip, Senator Francis Alimikhena representing Edo North has said the people of Etsako community and Afemai land are tired of politicians who has never voted for others but always seeking the vote of the people. “Since the inception of Democracy in 1999 till date Hon. Abubakar Momoh has constantly seek for elective position without him voting for others yet he has no project to his credit.
Hon. Momoh who is the PDP candidate for Edo North 2019 election has been a councillor, Local Government Chairman, Member of the State House of Assembly and a former member representing Etsako Federal Constituency at the National Assembly. “How can a man be so selfish and self seeking? Afemai people have constantly voted for Hon Momoh in different political platform without any project to his credit”
The Deputy Whip of the Senate who is also the APC Senatorial Candidate for Edo North has invited the PDP Candidate in the Edo North Senator race to an open performance debate on their performances as legislators at the National Assembly. Hon. Momoh in a Newspaper publication yesterday has accused Senator Alimikhena over no projects execution in Owan and Akoko Edo local government. In his reaction, Senator Francis Alimikhena In a Press Statement issued by his personal Assistant Media and Publicity Mr. Benjamin Atu said the allegations by Hon Momoh is a public disgrace and a display of ignorance of happenings in Edo North. “Momoh lack knowledge of the senatorial district he is struggling to represent. If Momoh knows his salt he would have realize that Senator Alimikhena got a second term automatic ticket on the confidence of the Edo North leaders based on the numerous projects to his credit.
According to the Statement, Senator Francis Alimikhena ascended his height on the ladder of trust repose in him through his service which connected him to his people without been involved in political activities. It was this trust earned by Senator Francis Alimikhena that made his ascentary by the masses of Edo North a reality. He has taken the trust of the people as a deposit and has therefore, made conscious efforts to make gains with the deposit of trust that was given to him. The massive infrastructural development and Human capital development in Edo North is a deliberate effort by the Edo North Senator in ensuring that the wellbeing of the people are Paramount to him.
Senator Francis Alimikhena has inspire more trust of the Edo North masses by his action. Trust is earned, it is never given. Previous Senators have failed to earn the trust of the people because they do not connect to the people emotionally through their performance. Hon Momoh is on the wrong side of history and the people of Etsako are looking forward to the electoral year when Hon Abubakar Momoh will cue as a Nigerian to vote for others rather than always seeking for people to vote for him.
He maintained that Legislating is a serious business and Senator Alimikhena has all it takes to face the challenges. Legislators make landmark legislation and critical intervention to advance and promote social economic wellbeing of their people. A legislator has the duty to bring the attention of parliament to the needs and problem of his people. It is only when challenges of the people are brought to the floor of the parliament, that the parliament will use the mechanism of resolution to express the will of parliament in favour of the people. “Senator Alimikhena is not strange in the legislative business. He went in 2015 and came back home with practical result of effective representation. “It’s too late to doubt in the dark what we already known in the light.
On the accusation that that Senator Alimikhena has not executed any project in Owan and Akoko Edo, Senator Wondering whether Hon. Momoh was Unconscious and Hospitalized when he (Alimikhena) constructed the Akoko Edo and Ibillo Township road as well as Schools and Bore hole projects all in Akoko Edo local Government. He asked if Hon Momoh was also in prison custody when he also constructed the Igarra road phase 1 as well as Boreholes and several school projects in Sobe and Uzzeba respectively all in Owan Local government. “If all the above project are true then Hon Momoh should go bury his face in shame.”
“There is no leadership vacuum in Edo North for Hon. Momoh to occupy. It is a slap to the people of Edo North for Momoh to imagine himself as a political leader in the next dispensation after he has brought reproach to the people of Etsako through his Pocket politics of self enrichment and victimization of Afemai Son’s and Daughters while in public office. “Leadership is not for children and Edo North do not have vacuum for selfish politicians.”Political leadership is not a tittle therefore it cannot be bestowed on people.” It is earned through dedicated commitment to the service of humanity and Momoh have not the leadership quality as a politician due to his pursuit for personal interest and gains.”
Benjamin Atu has therefore accused Hon. Momoh to published his achievement in Politics since 1999 where he has served as a councillor, local Government chairman, House of Assembly member and a member of the National Assembly. “In three Years Senator Alimikhena known as the Oracle of Development, has executed more than 200 projects in Edo North but in 16 years Hon. Momoh do not have any projects in the entire Etsako Constituency to his credit. A man that has not been able to find his feet for sixteen years cannot stand in this era of change.
