Education: Osanebi Calls for Application into His N10m Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme

ABRAKA/Nigeria: In line with his avowed commitment to human capital development of the youth constituency, Deputy Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi has called for applications into this yearโ€™s undergraduate scholarship scheme for indigent students.
In a statement this afternoon in Delta State University, Abraka, Friday Osanebi Foundation scribe, Agbanashi Obinne, revealed this during aย consultation meeting with stakeholders and students leaders; calling on qualified Aniomaย indigenes to apply in other to access the ten million Naira scholarship fund.
He noted that interested undergraduate students in any of the public universities or polytechnics in the country are to express their interest in writing to the foundation Chairman at the Rt. Hon. Friday Osanebi liaison office Ashaka, or via e-mail to Fridayosanebifoundation@gmail.com.
Applicants in their third year are expected to attach their duly endorsed 200L sessional result, with CGPA not less than 3.0 for polytechnic students and 3.5 for university students. Photocopies of their school identity cards, local government letter of identification and Votersโ€™ Card, should be attached also.
He described the modus operandi of the foundation and all of its program, calling on the leaders to sensitize their students about the program. The studentsย asked questions and applauded Rt. Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi for his uncommon philanthropy and huge investment in human capital development.
Sequel to the foregoing, current students under the Foundation’s Scholarship Scheme,ย  are expected to reach the Foundation as quick asย  possible with their last session academic report.
The first tranche of the Scholarship award to Deltans, with Anioma students predominating the scheme was given March, 2016 at the Cabana Hotel, Asaba, after a screening examination that was conducted by the Foundation in affiliation with Delta State University, Abraka.
Osanebi has over the years in previous scholarship disbursement ceremonies and empowerment programs at his he organized forย farmers, market women.
Youths and others, stressed the need for diligence, dedication and discipline; demonstrating rare and high level magnanimity.
This will be the 3rd in the series, since the scholarship fund was increased to N10M.
As a rule and standard, continual enlistment to benefit from the scheme was predicated on submission of an academic report of not less than an upper credit, either in the university or polytechnic/monotechnicย grading systems.
The incoming beneficiaries are expected to be serious and steadfast in their academic pursuit, with a sense of purpose and mission. Lazy students who are unable to meet the 3.5 or 3.0 benchmark are replaced with freshers and are all expected access the scholarship fund till graduation.
