Former Gov Emmanuel Uduagha Advocates Use Of Information to Tackle Security Challenges

KOKO/Nigeria: Immediate past Governor of Delta state, Dr Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan has said that information dissemination is key to overcoming security challenges in the country.

Dr Uduaghan who made this statement while on  a private visit to Warri North Local Government Council Secretariat in Koko, said his visit was devoid of any political colouration but geared towards paying attention to  grassroots development.

The former governor noted that security was a collective effort and should not be left alone for the State Governor and the Local Government Chairmen, saying: “When you see something, say something,” this according to him would make the security agencies succeed in tackling security issues in the country.

He commended the Warri North Council Chairman, Hon. Aduge Okorodudu, for consulting with him and the State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, when he was faced with security challenges immediately he assumed office as chairman, saying he would always be available to give advice on governance when sought for.

Dr Uduaghan also commended the council boss for fulfilling some of his electoral promises through ongoing projects and already completed ones awaiting commissioning despite of meager resources.

He added that there was still room to do more for the people of the LGA and urged him to always maintain that loyalty to the people  and his opponents in the elections by accommodating all in his administration stressing that building family together was the hallmark of good leadership.

On his part, the Council boss thanked the former governor for his display of humility by paying an unsheduled visit to his office, and promised to always work with everyone irrespective of party affiliations in order to move the Council forward.

He however bemoaned the lack of a general hospital and functional health centres in the riverine communities in the LGA, and promised to make all health centres in the LGA functional, noting that drugs and medical equipment would be taken to four riverine communities next week.

Some of the dignitaries present during the visit were Commissioner for Women Affairs, Community and Social Development, Rev. Mrs Omashola Williams, Hon. Irene Imilar, some former council chairmen and representative of the palace of the Olu of Warri, vice chairman of the council, leader, and councillors of Warri North legislative arm, and top management staff of the council.

The visit however climaxed at the residence of the Olaraja of Koko, Chief Victor Nana’s residence, where the former governor was warmly received and hosted by the community head.
