Inculcate Positive Values on Children, Principal Advises Parents

ASABA/Nigeria: Parents have been advised to inculcate positive values on their children and wards as education begins informally in their homes.

The Principal of Oruchi Comprehensive High School, Amachai, Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State, Deaconess (Mrs.) L. I. Erihivwor, made the call during the maiden ceremony of the Nine Lessons and Carols of the school held at its premises recently.

She said that as teachers, they partner with parents in the arduous task of nation building as the students are the leaders of tomorrow.

Mrs. Erihivwor disclosed that the school started in earnest on Monday, September 11, 2017 and like the proverbial mustard seed, has grown from zero students enrolment to over two hundred in less than twelve weeks.

The Principal stated that the feat was achieved because of the support of the state government, Amachai community, her indefectible staff, parents and pupils and commended all of them for their efforts, adding that the school is now the best and first among equals as it is the peak of the pack.

She however appealed for support of any kind in the provision of necessary equipment for the school’s cultural troupe and the dancing group who looked spectacular in the items they borrowed, stressing that with the necessary support, they will use their own equipment and costumes during the second edition of the ceremony.

Cultural displays, drama presentation, short exaltation and visit to the Groto to see baby Jesus added colour to the celebration.

The Permanent Secretary, Government House and Protocol, Sir Eddy Ogidi-Gbegbaje, represented by Mr. Francis Eboka, Ogbueshi P. C.  Mesike, parents and guardians, among other dignitaries, witnessed the ceremony.
