Man Found Dead in Amai Community Farmland, in Delta State

Obiaruku: The dead body of a young man, suspected to have been killed and dumped in a farmland in Amai community, Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State had been found.

The body according to our source was found in the early morning of today, Monday, 12 December, 2016, by an elderly woman in her farm in Amai Nge, part of Amai Community, which has boundary with Umukwata, also in Ukwuani LGA, were internal crises on kingship has resulted in deaths in recent time.

According to available information, the community reported the incident to the Obiaruku Divisional Police Headquarter, were policemen were drafted to the scene.

However, source from the community, said the body is not from Amai, as it was suspected that it was brought and dumped in the farmland from outside the community.

It could be recalled that the traditional stool crises in Umukwata, a neighbouring community had recently degenerated into fight that had some people injured, and one Mr Goddey Ododo, (AKA DJ), had being declared missing.

A source from the police who don’t want to be named, had confirmed the incident but said the dead body is not that of Mr Ododo, and had solicited for the people within the LGA to come forward to identify the body.

Attempt to officially confirm the incident from the DPO in Obiaruku was not possible; as the DPO was said be out of town.

However, the Police Public Relation Officer, (PPRO), when contacted promised to check on the Obiaruku Police Station, which he did, but let called back to deny the occurrence of the incident, but however promised to get back to Ndokwa Reporters if there is contrary report.
