ABUJA/Nigeria: If all goes well, Ndokwa Nation will soon have its first higher educational institute, as the Senator representing Delta North in the National Assembly, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi has presented a bill at the floor of the senate demanding for a Federal Polytechnic in Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of the state, is finally passed into law by the National Assembly.
The bill which was presented at the floor of the Senate yesterday, Thursday January 25, 2018 is being sponsored by the Senator who is, as part of his effort towards attracting more federal presence in the Senatorial District in particular and Delta State in general.
The bill, titled: “Federal Polytechnic Kwale, Delta State (Est, etc) Bill, 2018 (SB. 603)”, which is seeking for the creation and establishment of a Federal Polytechnic, was officially laid on the floor of the senate and it successfully passed through the First Reading.
In a statement, after the sitting of the Senate, Owelle Awele Onokwai Snr., a Senior Special Assistant to Senator Nwaoboshi, commended the presentation of the bill, noting that it was another manifestation of Senator Nwaoboshi’s quality representation of the people of Delta North in the Senate, adding that the bill when finally passed into law, would go a long way in uplifting the standard of education in Delta North.
“ I want to sincerely appreciate the most distinguished Senator Nwaoboshi for sponsoring and presenting this bill today. When this bill is passed into law, it will be a major breakthrough for the people of Kwale considering the fact that the region lacks the presence of any federal government tertiary institution.
“We are deeply optimistic that this bill will come into fruition considering the fact that Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, an avowed lover of his people and region, will do everything within his powers to bring this massive development home.
“On this note, Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi is assuring the people of Delta North of his resolve to continue bringing the spoils of democracy to them. That is his vow and he holds it dearly to his heart,” Onokwai stated with emphasis.
