North West Volleyball: Kebbi Are Weeping Boys as Hosts Katsina Lose Steam
KATSINA/Nigeria: Kebbi State male volleyball team have so far been the weeping boys at the North West Zonal league, organised by the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF).
So far, they have failed to win a single game as all their opponents used them to gain points, even as hosts Katsina whom were excellent on the first two days failed to shine on Monday.
In matches played on Monday, Katsina lost 0-3 to Kaduna in the first game.
Kano State trounced the Birnin Kebbi lads 3-0 in the second game, while hosts Katsina lost again to Kano 1-3 in the third game.
Team Kaduna continued its brilliant run in the last match of the day by thrashing Kebbi 3-0.
In the same spirit, Kaduna’s female team wasted no time in dealing with their Zamfara counterparts as the game was decided by three straight sets 3-0.
In an interview with our correspondent, Secretary of the North West League Committee Florence Yori said that the standards are increasing with every new day.
“The players are beginning to brave up more and it is getting more exciting. We are seeing brilliant spikes and equally good blockings,” she said.
