Okowa Congratulates Paul Osuyi on His Re-Election as Asaba Correspondents Chair
ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has congratulated Comrade Paul Osuyi of the Sun Newspaper on his re-election as Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Asaba Correspondents Chapel.
Governor Okowa in a statement on Thursday by his Chief Press Secretary, Charles Aniagwu said Comrade Osuyi, no doubt enjoys the confidence of his colleagues fir them to have overwhelmingly re-elected him to lead them in a keenly contested election where all contestants campaigned vigorously to earn the trust and support of their colleagues.
“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I congratulate Comrade Paul Osuyi and his executive members on their successful election into executive of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Asaba Correspondents Chapel.
While thanking the Electoral Committee for successfully organising a peaceful, fair and credible election, Governor Okowa assured the new Executive of the continued support and partnership of the state government with the Chapel.
The Governor further urged the new Executive to work harmoniously with all journalists in the Chapel in order to adequately communicate the administration’s SMART Agenda as the watch dog of the society.
