Rt. Hon. Basil Ganagana
The Independent Corrupt Practices Commission. (ICPC) has charged the Deputy Speaker of the Delta State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Basil Ganagana before the High Court 5, Asaba for conspiracy, fraud and receiving money obtained through fraud.
Also charged are Mrs Joan Ganagana and Mr. Thadeus Ganagana, the wife and elder brother of the Deputy Speaker.
The presiding Judge, Hon. Justice M.O. Omovie (Mrs) adjourned the case to 28th May, 2014 to enable ICPC serve the charge on Mrs Joan Ganagana and Thadeus who were yet to be served.
Meanwhile, there are indication that this charge may cause the Deputy Speaker of his position in the House of Assembly as some members are of the opinion that for the House not to be smeared, the Deputy Speaker should resign or he will be impeached.
The Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, (ICPC) has listed twelve (12) witnesses to testify on it’s behalf when trial will commence in the case. More Details later.
