The Councilors Being Sworn-in

OBIARUKU/Nigeria: The Executive Chairman, Ukwuani Local Government Council, Ogbuefi Chukwudi Dafe have sworn-in the 16 elected councilors in the area with a charge to make the welfare of staff and the security of lives and property as well as the general well being of the people a priority.
Ogbuefi Chukwudi congratulated the councillors and advised them to work together as a team if they would want to achieve anything meaningful and make an impact on their various wards. He reiterated his administration desire to promptly pay workers salaries before anything else even as he noted that the people should come first at all times before personal gains and benefits
The councilors inaugurated are: Hon Edike Christian Eze (Ward 1), Hon Christopher Nwajiogoli (Ward 2), Hon Ojebo Louis Ossai (Ward 3), Hon Emu Ambrose (Ward 4), Hon Ndego Ifeoma Godbless (Ward 5), Hon Obi Celestine (Ward 6), Hon Oji Chidi Jerry (Ward 7) and Hon Kenneth Ojugbeli (Ward 8).
Others are; Hon Emili Amedu (Ward 9), Hon (Mrs) Gift Nkechi Anezie (10), Hon Enyashi Christopher (Ward 11), Hon Ekpenuma Lucky (Ward 12), Hon Onyuku Demechi (Ward 13), Hon Ossai Benson (Ward 14), Hon Eke Uju Patricia (Ward 15) and Hon Ugbome Ikechukwu (Ward 16).
Meanwhile, the Sixth Ukwuani Local Government Legislative House was also inaugurated and immediately after, the principal officers of the Sixth Ukwuani Legislative house were elected; and the following officers were returned unopposed in their nominated positions: Hon. Kenneth Ojugbeli (Leader of the House), Hon. Edike Christian Eze (Deputy Leader of the House), Hon. Ojebo Louis Ossai (Majority Leader), Hon. Eke Uju Patricia (Chief Whip), Hon. Enyashi Christopher (Deputy Majority Leader) and Hon. Emu Ambrose (Deputy Chief Whip).

Earlier, while inaugurating the house, the Clerk of the House, Mr Charles Anamati congratulated the Executive Chairman, Vice Chairman and the councilors on their victory at the January 6th Delta LG polls.
Mr Charles reminded the councilors that the purpose of every government is to provide adequate security and welfare for the citizenry. He therefore called on the councilors to do the business of the House in peace and ensure that they give their respective wards adequate representation.
He however warned against arguing to gain superiority, establishing acrimony, bad blood between the legislature and the executive, adding and subtracting emoluments and allowances.
The Clerk of the House further called on the Executive and the Legislature to work in synergy in order to achieve a sustainable and people oriented goals in the local government.
Meanwhile, the Leader of the House, Hon. Kenneth Ojugbeli in his inaugural speech thanked the members of the house for finding him worthy to lead the house and promise not to fail in his duties adding that as a team, the councilors will give Ukwuani local government a noticeable face lift.
Present at the inauguration of the Sixth Ukwuani Legislative House were: the Executive Chairman, Ukwuani Local Government Council, Ogbuefi Chukwudi Dafe; the Executive Director Social Services Development, DESOPADEC, Hon. Ochor Chris Ochor; the Head of Personnel Management (HPM) of the council, Dr. Frank Atube amongst other dignitaries.
