2019: Onuesoke Tackles O’tega, Says No Opposition Formula Can Unseat PDP in Delta

WARRI/Nigeria: As the 2019 general elections gathers momentum, a former governorship aspirant and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta state, Chief Sunny Onuesoke, has said that no opposition formula or strategy can unseat the PDP from Delta State Government House, come 2019.
Onuesoke’s reaction followed a statement credited to Olorogun O’tega Emerhor over the weekend, where O’tega was quoted to have said the opposition party in the state will not repeat the mistake of 2015 where he and Great Ogboru contested and lost painfully to the PDP.
O’tega made the statement over the weekend when Professor Pat Utomi, a governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), paid him a consultation visit at his residence in Evwreni, Ughelli North local government area of Delta state.
Emerhor said: “As an individual, I have decided along with other committed APC leaders who really want change in Delta state that we will not do things the same way again this time because the opposition in Delta has not had this type of opportunity that is available to us today.
“You will recall that in 2015, I ran for the governorship of Delta state, and still have the capacity to do that now. But I took a decision not to run because the environment supports
a different formula and that formula excludes me and that is why I am not out there consulting like others.”
However, Chief Sunny Onuesoke, a strong member of the PDP, said from all indications, there is no formula or new strategy that will be employed by the opposition in Delta that could be of threat to the PDP family in Delta state.
