Warri South Chairman Donates Mattresses to Prison Inmates

WARRI/Nigeria: The Chairman of Warri South Local Government Council, Hon. Michael Tidi, on Friday August 10, 2018 donated 20 mattresses to the Nigerian Prison Service, Okere, Warri.
Hon Tidi, who was represented by the Vice Chairman of the Council, Hon. Divine Iniovosa, said the donation was to improve the condition of the inmates in the prison as promised, pledging to provide more.
The Deputy Controller, in charge of Warri Prisons, Sir Solomon Airiohuodion, thanked the chairman for the gestures, saying they would be put to judicious use.
The Special Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Community Development, Mr Henry Aluya, speaking at the occasion, said Dr Okowa would rehabilitate the prison to bring comfort to the inmates, just as he urged the inmates to be of good behaviour
An inmate, Alex Odunze, on behalf of the other inmates, thanked the chairman for the mattresses and for fulfilling his promise to them.
