DTSG Partners With Non Indigenes For Progress

ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Government has assured of continuous partnership with the Arewa community and other non indigenes in the state towards the progress of the state.

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa gave the assurance today in Asaba when the leaders and members of the Arewa community in the state visited him.

The Governor represented by the Secretary to State Government Hon. Festus Agas appealed to the representatives of the community to continue to partner with the state government to sustain the existing peace in the state and assured that they would be carried along in the scheme of things

While thanking them for the care, love and understanding shown to the state government so far, Governor Okowa noted that Delta State was peaceful compared to other states of the federation and congratulated them on the successful celebration of the feast of Eid-El-Kabir.

In an address, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Non Indigenes, Alhaji Muktar Usman, assured the governor of the continued support to his administration and described him as a detribalized Nigerian who believed in peaceful co-existence of all.

Alhaji Usman thanked Governor Okowa for his usual support to the Arewa communities across the state during every Sallah celebration and for ensuring that Muslims in the state participated yearly in Hajj programmes in Saudi Arabia.

He noted that the state had witnessed accelerated human and capital development including the construction of roads, ultra modern health centres and adult education centres in Arewa communities across the state.

He commended the governor for the appointment of members of the Arewa community into his cabinet and successful completion of the Stephen Keshi Stadium Asaba as well as successful hosting of the 21st edition of the Africa Senior Athletics Championship.
