ABUJA/Nigeria: It was a classical display of confidence stemming from vast knowledge of the political cum administrative dynamics of Delta state when Rt Hon (Engr) Victor Ochei esq, a governorship hopeful appeared before the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship screening team in Abuja.
According to an inside source at the exercise” Rt Hon Ochei exhibited extensive knowledge of Delta state, which enthralled the panelists as he dexterously responded to all questions impressively thereby depicting a man with a pan-Deltan posture capable of taking Delta to higher level of attainments.
The source further revealed that Ochei illuminated critical issues through a comprehensively articulated blue print such as enhanced revenue status, curbing environmental hazards, balancing the ethnic equations, judicious use of human and material resources. Other areas requiring attention include, balancing ethnic equation, functional and proactive security system, prompt payment of workers’ salary and of course, a multi dimensional approach to urban and rural development programme across the state.
On the issue of the conventional rotation of governorship amongst the three senatorial zones of the state, Ochei was quoted as saying that Delta North (his extraction) has only four years more to govern the state and it will be delightful to have an APC governor from Delta North complete the remaining four years hence, his desire to mount the saddle with a vision of transforming the state positively.
It was also gathered that Ochei premised his vision on his accomplishments in less than two years as the speaker of the Delta state House of Assembly, a renactable feat as a governor adding that” one doesn’t need four years to engender transformation as two years are enough for a visionary administrator to make a mark”.
