Why This Bitterness Among Some Nigerians Over Princess Stella Odua

Princess Stella Oduah

Nigerians are very good at passing judgment, condemning and crucifying people without hearing their own side of the story. We follow the crowd; we are not men and women of our words. We do not analyze situation before conclusion. We do not ask question to find out the truth about a situation before we begin to apportion blame; the moment a group of persons condemn you, others will follow. This is a serious sickness in Nigeria. We aggravate a little thing and make it look as if it is the worst thing that has ever happened. Sometimes, most of those who condemn are worse than the victim they condemn.
As I thought to myself, I discovered that most of us clamor for power not because we truly want to serve the masses but because we want to embezzle what belongs to many. Just a few persons in Nigerian government are there to serve. We are all interested in the mistake of Princess Stella Oduah not in her achievements; we have refused to see her impact for three years in the Aviation sector. Several persons have been ministers for four years and even seven years in other sectors. What have they to show for it? Where have all the money gone into, and what have we done to them? I am not in any way saying that Princess Stella Oduah is a perfect woman; all I am saying is that we should consider critically the situation that warranted her buying of the bullet proof cars. Just like every human, Princess Stella Oduah has her weaknesses. She bought the cars because she needed safety which is a major challenge in Nigeria. If some of us are privileged to be in her position, we will do worse. Some of those condemning her are doing so simply because they were not part of the deal and nothing more. Some people said she inflated the price; and so what? What if she had decided to lute the money in secret? So many men and women have stolen billions and are still stealing billions in this country. What have done to them?
On the area of security; do we really have security in Nigeria? Boko haram have turned people into nothing but flies with their rampant killings. The country does not have emergency numbers; even if they have they probably will respond after the deeds have been done. Some time ago, an attempt was made to kill her, she was lucky not have been in the car because she probably would have met her waterloo. What did Nigerians do to that situation; were we able to get the assassins? What else would she have done to protect her life in this unsecured country called Nigeria? If a human person want to protect life which is a precious gift, he or she can go out of the way to use his or her life earn saving to get the protection. If you have escaped death before, you will understand. Just because she bought two armoured cars for safety 255 million naira, we now call her names. She bought what we all can see. What about those that embezzled huge sum of money that we never saw; what are we going to call them?
Let he or she in the Nigerian politics who has not directly or indirectly stolen the country’s resources be the first to cast a stone on Princess Stella Oduah.
Princess Stella Oduah did excellently well in the Aviation sector. She deserves commendation and not condemnation. No one is without error; therefore, if she has erred in any way, she should be corrected and forgiven instead of blaming her for her human errors. May God bless her.
