Ukwuani LGA: Osakuni Takes Over from Ochor

Handing Over at the Chairman Office, Obiaruku from Ochor to Osakuni-Izuegbu

Following the successful Local council Elections held in Delta State on 25 of October, 2014, and the swearing-in of 23 elected chairmen out of 25 LGA on Monday, 27 of October, 2014, by the Governor, Dr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, the elected Chairman of Ukwuani LGA, Bar (Mrs) Benedicta Ndudi Osakunih-Izuegbu has taken over the realms of power in the LGA.Exif_JPEG_420
The handing over event which took place on Tuesday 28 October, 2014 at the oval office of the Chairman was witnessed by members of the public, the elected councillors, workers in the council, and religious leaders in the LGA.
In his speech, the Transition Committee Chairman, Hon Ochor Chris Ochor told the new chairman that he is leaving the council much better than he met it, especially in the area of security and infrastructural development, he therefore called on the new local government management to be focused and make use of all the resources at their disposal for the development of the Council Area.Exif_JPEG_420
In her acceptance speech, the new Chairman, Bar Osakuni-Izuegbu, promised to work with the people of the LGA, especially the council workers and the newly elected councillors to move Ukwuani forward, in her words, “We will hand everything to God and work with him to achieve Success.
At the handover events were Dr Kingsley Ojie, the new Vice Chairman of the Council, the Head Personal Management, all Heads of Department, Bishop Wiseman Malagwu, and the Moslem Community in Ukwuani.
