Why I Am in Race to The Senate.

A leading aspirant of the Unity Party of Nigeria, UPN, Comrade Andy Aliagwu has declared his interest in representing Delta North Senatorial District of Delta State come 2015 in the National Assembly.
In an interview with Newsmen, Ogor said he is seeking to represent the Anioma Nation because he has the capacity to give his people the development leap they need in the economic resources of the Anioma people by improving on the achievements of his predecessors. He believes his presence in the Senate will guarantee enlightened representation and progress for his people. “I am not seeking to be a Senator to do small things, I want to touch the lives of my people and attract quality development to them”.
Ogor who boast of being a member of the longest serving political party in power except the military; says the Unity party of Nigeria is the originator of what every party is copying today in their manifestos.
“I want to re-enact the progress of the past like the first Television station in Africa, The Cocoa House in Ibadan, Free education at all levels, Free Health care and other social services. These are all achievements of the Action Group that later became the Unity Party of Nigeria under the leadership of the late Sage Chief Obafemi Awolowo. We are a party that believe in Democracy, Justice and Egalitarianism. We promote the political wellbeing of all Nigerians through genuine democracy characterized by transparency, accountability, welfare and social justice. :I want my people to enjoy all these” he says. Comrade Andy Ogor recalls memories of Local Authority Schools, Primary Health Centres otherwise known as Dispensaries, Maternity centres and customary courts. There are also the farm settlements, Modern Schools all located in the rural areas in the 50s and 60s. These were the achievements of the Unity Party of Nigeria, a Legacy he wants to keep alive.
On his pedigree, he has worked with many politician in the past and in his days as a student in the University of Ibadan. He is one of the newbreed of politicians who came to limelight after military hand over to civilians in 1999. He is a political strategist who many politicians have benefitted from. A happily married man, straight and has in his chest a milk of human kindness who has an ear for his people. It is this desire to serve that has endeared him to the hearts of many in Delta. Ogor is well known in the corporate world having steered a very successful Information Technology equipment support company in Lagos.
It is a well-known fact the party is growing with a considerable influence of its programmes.

From all indication, Comrade Andy Ogor has the creative energy to mount the dais and take Delta North to a new level of development if given the mandate to represent his people in the senate.
