The coordinator of Niger Delta Youth Council, Comr. Jato Abido has enjoined eligible voters in the region to exercise their civic responsibilities in the forth coming general elections advising politicians to consider the unity of the country first and desist from making statements capable of causing disunity in the country.
Comr. Abido made the call at Tinapa, Cross Rovers State when the Council organized a 3 day retreat.
The Coordinator of the Niger Delta Youths who condemned the attack on Ewen Community in Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State, that led to the death of a youth and injuring of many, stated that the group will no longer condone such terrorist attack in the entire nation.
He also proposed that the group resolved that Hon Ndidi Elumelu and Alhaji Abdumalic Mamood be made grand patron and patron of the council respectively owing to their immense contributions to the group.
High point of the 3 days retreat was the launching of Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor Community Empowerment Programme Initiative Scheme which, according to the Agbarha Warri born Niger Delta youth leader, was aimed at partnering with Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and other well-meaning individuals and organizations.
