DTSG Says it Have no Plan to Extend Curfew Time

WARRI/Nigeria:  The Delta State Government had denied the rumour going round in the oil rich city of Warri, and environ on the possibility of extending the hours of the ongoing curfew imposed on the state because of the Novel Coronavirus.

Reacting to the rumour, the state Commissioner for Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu said the government had no such plans, as he does not know where the rumour is coming from.

He was reacting to the tensed situation that was noticed regarding the new time of the curfew, from 6pm to 6am, as markets in Warri and environ closed early in observance to the rumour time.

It was noticed that Igbudu Market and some major areas in Warri were in a state of rush towards the early evening of Monday June 15, 2020 over the rumour.
Most stores were closed for business as both traders and buyers were rushing home to beat the new rumoured curfew hour of 6pm.
The situation was the same on some major roads in the town as intra city commercial transporters and passengers were also in a panic mood over the rumour.
