Hon. Victor Ochei the senatorial candidate of Accord party has called on INEC to cancel the election due to discrepancies he suspected that might have emanated from the counting of the ballot papers, which its result do not tally with that of the returning officer Prof. Sunday Akparobi, he alleged that the result sheet of the returning officer was tampered with or altered to favour a particular party, adding that the returning officer did not issue Accord Party agent a copy of the result sheets as at when due.
Prof.Sunday Akparobi the returning officer noted that he is not aware of the alteration, that his duty is to collate results and bring back the result to the collation centre.
Hon.Ochei insisted that the INEC must provide the accurate and original result sheet of the election, he added that the electoral officer in charge of INEC at the local government level has the right to issue electoral materials and collect the totality of the votes casted in that area, again he observed that the ballot paper designed for the senatorial election has more than 28 political parties whereas only 12 parties contested for the election, adding that there must be explanations for that misconduct on the part of INEC.
The resident commissioner of Delta state INEC advised that the political parties that did not reflect on the ballot papers and have votes should be discarded because one cannot have result for the exam one did not take.
Following another ugly development at Ukwuani local government area, the electoral officer stressed that the result was collated without her candidate permission and noticed, that of course proved Hon.Ochei manifestations of discrepancy which he suspected that altered the original result, thereby allowing PDP to win the election.
