NASS: Put Nigeria Before Your Personal Interests

The Presiding Bishop of the Ecumenical Apostolic Church Diocese of Nigeria, Worldwide, Bishop Greatman Nmalagwu has called on Nigerian Parliamentarians to put Nigeria before their personal ambitions.
The bishop made the call recently in Obiaruku while addressing newsmen on the recent events at the National Assembly during the election of the principle officers of the Senate and the House of Representatives, on 9 June, 2015.
According to the Bishop, the “Change Mantra should not be limited to the presidency, or political parties, but should be allowed in all sections of the Nigerian politics and governance, if Nigerians are to see the changes, the government of President Mohammadu Buhari is advocating”. He said.
Speaking further, the Bishop called on the members of the National Assembly in both chambers to allow the will of the people to prevail, which from observation was the election of Senator Bukola Saraki and Hon Yakubu Dogara, which shows that Nigerians are ready to fight against imposition of representatives and leaders on them.
In the word of the clergyman, “Any act of litigation to fight the elected leaders, will not only derail the work of the National Assembly, but also the government of President Mohammadu Buhari will suffer, as policy bills and contribution of the legislators to the developmental efforts of the government will be affected as love and harmony will be missing”. He concluded.
