Some of the Suspected Criminals

The Delta state Police Command under the leadership of CP Usman Alkali intimated newsmen and the general public on the un-relented efforts at ensuring the reduction of crime to the barest minimum in the state have continued to yield positive results, as they had promised to do their best continually to make the state safe for all Deltans.
The CP said, “We wish to solicit the support of all and sundry by giving the Police and other security agencies useful and timely information about criminals and their hideouts in any parts of the state. Such timely information will assist us to promptly and effectively tackle all form of criminalities”.
Furthermore, the police arrested suspected kidnappers and recovered arms and ammunition, the suspects, Ovie Onugho ‘m’, Peter Godspower ‘m’, Emmanuel Idoro ‘m’, Richard Idoro ‘m’, Kehinde Amadasu ‘m’, and Felix Memetobe ‘m’ undergoing investigation at Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad office Asaba have admitted their membership of a notorious gang terrorising Oghara and environs.
The suspects narrated their criminal escapades to include the kidnap of one Roadwell Aweto ‘m’ in his filling station along Sapele/Benin road and collected N2m as ransom. The suspects also attempted to kidnap one Sampson Takpo ‘m’, the Uzi of Oghara Kingdom at Oghara estate, and shot the victim on his leg. The criminals were however forced to abandon the victim when he raised alarm which attracted sympathisers to the scene.
On receipt of the report Police detectives swung into action and arrested the suspects. The culprits will be arraigned in court at the end of investigation.
In line with sister agency efforts to ensure there is peace in the town a team of 19 Battalion, Nigeria Army, attached to JTF operation Pulo shield Koko, while on stop and search duty along Warri/Sapele road intercepted one Lexus Jeep RX 350 with Reg. No. MHA 532 AA (Rivers) driven by one Ufuoma Okolie ‘m’, with three Plasma TV sets.
Investigation revealed that the said Ufuoma Okolie masterminded a gang of four armed robbers led by one William Abadidi ‘m’, (at large) to rob one Nkechi Evwie ‘f’ of Inikiro street, off Enerhen road Warri on 30/5/2015 at about 1300hrs. The victim was dispossessed of the aforementioned Lexus Jeep, three Plasma TV sets, handsets and unspecified amount of money.
The suspect has confessed to the crime and disclosed that he lives in the same neighbourhood with the victim, and he was taking the vehicle to a receiver at Benin before his arrest.
Items recovered from him include one Lexus Jeep, Reg. no. MHA 532 AA (Rivers) and three plasma TV sets.
However SARS patrol team based in Agbor, while on routine patrol along MTD Road, Agbor, encountered with a suspected armed robber who was trying to rob one Miss Uzor Lillian ‘f’; and in a bid to escape, the suspected robber opened fire on the policemen while the Police team returned fire. The suspected robber was fatally injured and arrested. He later died on the way to the hospital for treatment. One locally made cut-to-size pistol with one round of live cartridge was recovered from him.
