ASABA/Nigeria: Chieftains of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Delta State, have condemned the inclusion of names of some of their members among those said to have cross-carpeted to the Peoples Democratic Party, during a recent PDP rally in the state.
They made the condemnation during a press conference in Asaba.
The Delta North Senatorial District Chairman and State Vice-Chairman of the APC, Chief Eluaka Adizue, described some of their members who defected to the opposition as inconsequential to the progress of the APC in the state. Ogbueshi Adizue said.
“They say the hand they used in building the APC that is the same hand they have used to destroy APC. Have any of them won in their local governments, or in their wards; in their units? The records are there with INEC.”
A chieftain of the party from Delta North Mr. Victor Sorokwu, whose name was listed among those said to have defected at the rally, noted the move was a sign of desperation by the PDP.
“Quantum of resources that have accrued to this state since 1999 till date, is in tens of trillions of naira. Can we juxtapose that with development on ground? The answer is, no.
“Opposition has come to stay in Delta State.”
Others at the press conference including Mr. Juwe Fidelis from Aniocha South, also lent his voice to denounce the supposed inflation by the People’s Democratic Party of the number of converts to their party.
