WARRI/Nigeria: Ahead of the 2023 general elections, Ambassador Young Piero Omatseye, Labour Party House of Representatives candidate, Warri Federal Constituency, has unveiled his GET- UP manifesto to the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, saying his major goal is to sponsor bills that are people-oriented and people driven
Amb. Omatseye stated this during his homage visit to the monarch where he formally notified him of his intention to contest for the seat of House of Representatives today at the Royal Palace in Warri Delta State
He explained to the Monarch that with his experience as a member of Parliament, Africa, Caribbean, and Pacific joint session with the European Union (ACP-EU) he has what it takes to represent Warri Federal Constituency in the 10th assembly.
“I will create employment for our youths by championing industrialization and Human capital Development through blockchain technology by the partnership with local and international organisations for the establishment of local Industries,” he added.
He assured the monarch of attracting laws that will ensure the Warri and Koko ports are opened which will boost the economy of Warri in particular and Delta State in general.
According to him, “one of my roles as the Jet Age Nation Builders Coordinator is to foster the participation of African countries in the African Continental free trade agreement (AFCFTA).
“I will work to replicate my ideas in our land, by bringing opportunities to improve trade within our region, bringing investors from Africa and the world. Moving bills to amend tariffs, and quotas that have impeded the expansion of markets within the region
He further stated that his plan for the constituency is summed up in his manifesto as “GET-UP” to mean, Good legislation, Empowerment and Employment, Transparency, Unusual representation and Peace and Progress
Responding, the Olu of Warri His Royal Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, commended Amb. Young Piero for coming out to contest for the position, saying that he is glad to see young vibrant and educated Itsekiri youths coming out to aspire for political position
He prayed for the success and protection of the Young Piero to achieve his ambition as he embarked on his election campaign.
