Delta Governor Pledges Timely Pension Payments as New Officials Sworn In

ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to promptly disbursing pension benefits for retiring and retired state personnel.

The Governor who was Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony for three Special Advisers and various board members in Asaba, Governor Oborevwori urged the State Bureau for Pensions to proactively fulfill its duties and provide timely advice to the government.

The newly appointed Special Advisers include Mr. Austin Ayemidejor, Mr. Sunny Jero, and Mr. Emmanuel Osazuwa. Additionally, Sir Edwin Ogidi-Gbegbaje was sworn in as the Chairman of the Delta State Bureau for Pensions, and Mr. Jude Oghenevwaire Emurotu joined the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC) as a member.

Furthermore, Mr. Ifeanyi Egwunyenga assumed the role of Chief Job and Wealth Creation Officer, while Hon. Victor Okoh was inaugurated as the Chairman of the Board of Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency. Other appointees include Mrs. Kemeseifa Ebikefe, Chief Paul Ibeyon, Engr. Mike Ogeleka, Mr. Marvis Erhie, Hon. Joe Adigwe, and Mr. Terry Okotoroh, who were appointed as members.

Chairing the Agency for Adult and Non-Formal Education is Asiyai Patricia Ekiyor, with Chief Gabriel Nmor, Ugbome Joy Awele, Mrs. Abitor Edirin, and Mrs. Rarute Mgbeke joining as members. Similarly, the Delta State Arts Council welcomed Mr. Pius Labo as Chairman, along with Mr. Julius Biyibi, Mrs. Ngozi Onarudu, Ugedi Ebi Edith, Oyibo Elohor Blessing, and Mrs. Martha Mekwuye as members.

Governor Oborevwori emphasized the importance of ethical conduct and accountability among the newly appointed officials, urging them to uphold the trust placed in them. He highlighted his administration’s efforts to support both serving and retired civil servants, including the allocation of vehicles to permanent secretaries and the clearance of pension liabilities.

In his remarks, Governor Oborevwori charged the Special Advisers to provide honest advice to aid the government in achieving its developmental goals, emphasizing the significance of aligning with the administration’s policy agenda, known as the MORE Agenda. He urged them to remain focused despite challenges and distractions.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the appointees, Mr. Austin Ayemidejor pledged their commitment to advancing the state’s development under Governor Oborevwori’s leadership and the MORE Agenda.
