ABUJA/Nigeria: The 14th edition of the prestigious Peace Legend Awards International, organized by its founder, Mr. Jesse Osero Amiri, alongside a distinguished panel of researchers committed to peace in Nigeria and Africa, is set to take place on April 27, 2025. The event will recognize 100 brands and personalities transforming the continent through their exceptional contributions.
This year’s edition will honor individuals who have distinguished themselves across various fields, including politics, business, science, arts, activism, and sports. Among the notable awardees, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo will receive the Africa Legend of Peace 2025 Award, while renowned business mogul Alhaji Aliko Dangote is set to be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
In a statement, Amiri emphasized Africa’s significance as the cradle of civilization, a continent rich in diversity and natural resources that has played a crucial role in global development. He highlighted Africa’s legacy of producing visionary leaders, entrepreneurs, activists, and thinkers who have shaped history and continue to influence the future.
“Africa has given the world great figures like Nelson Mandela, Kwame Nkrumah, Obafemi Awolowo, Nnamdi Azikiwe, Julius Nyerere, Paul Kagame, and Ellen Johnson Sirleaf—leaders whose contributions to governance, economic transformation, and social progress remain indelible,” Amiri noted.
According to him, the 14th edition of the Peace Legend Awards is focused on celebrating contemporary leaders excelling in their respective fields. He assured that the selection process was rigorous and transparent, ensuring that only the most deserving individuals were recognized.
The highly anticipated award ceremony, scheduled to take place at the prestigious Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, will commence at 6 p.m. and will be hosted by ace comedian Gordons D Beliconi. Amiri promised an event of grandeur, bringing together Africa’s finest minds in an atmosphere of elegance and celebration.
