UGHELLI/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has reaffirmed his commitment to governing the state according to the will of God, urging Deltans to continually pray for the success of his administration.

The Governor made this declaration during a surprise worship visit to Heroes of Faith Ministries in Ughelli, Ughelli North Local Government Area, on Sunday. The congregation received him with warm enthusiasm, with many expressing delight at his unannounced appearance.

“I told our Lord Bishop that when I would come, I would come unannounced,” Oborevwori said, explaining that his decision to attend the service discreetly stemmed from a deep desire to connect with God’s word, devoid of official protocol.

Addressing the congregation, Governor Oborevwori thanked the church’s General Overseer, Bishop Kingsley Enakirerhi, for his unwavering support during the 2023 elections, despite facing criticism for openly endorsing his candidacy.

“People criticized you, saying you betrayed them because you followed God and supported me. But today, they can see the evidence,” the Governor said, referencing the ongoing construction of a flyover in Ughelli and other visible infrastructure projects across the state.

He emphasized that his administration, through the MORE agenda, is fully committed to delivering real dividends of democracy. “We will continue to serve you according to the will of God,” he said. “Keep praying for us so we are not distracted from our mission.”

Oborevwori stated that the development projects in all three senatorial districts are a reflection of a government determined to serve equitably, regardless of ethnic or political affiliations.

Earlier in his remarks, Bishop Enakirerhi praised the Governor as a leader of uncommon speed and integrity, describing him as “a detribalized Deltan” who matches words with action.

The Bishop specifically lauded the Governor’s approval of the flyover at Otovwodo Junction in Ughelli and the ongoing road construction projects within the area, saying they have brought immense joy to the people and silenced critics.

“Governor Oborevwori is a man who lets his work speak for him,” the Bishop said, adding that his infrastructure revolution is changing the narrative of governance in Delta State.

He also commended Ughelli North Council Chairman, Olorogun Jaro Egbo, for his leadership, and urged all public office holders to emulate the Governor’s people-focused approach.

In his sermon titled Living for Christ, Bishop Enakirerhi called on those engaged in wickedness to turn a new leaf and seek repentance, urging the congregation to live in truth and righteousness.

He concluded with special prayers for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, asking for divine guidance as they lead the country and the state toward sustainable development.
