ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State Commissioner for Finance, Sir Fidelis Okenmor Tilije, has urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ukwuani Local Government Area to work together to strengthen the party in the area.
Tilije made the call on Sunday, August 10, 2025, in Asaba during a strategic meeting of stakeholders and leaders of the party in Ukwuani aimed at positioning the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Responding to his endorsement as Political Leader of the party in the LGA, in the presence of ward and state executives, with all LGA executives except three absent and all ward chairmen present except two with permission, Tilije stressed that while politics revolves around permanent interest, that interest should be the welfare of the citizens and residents of the area.
While thanking party members for the endorsement, he reminded them of the party’s mission for 2027: to ensure the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
Chief Tony Eleh from Ward Six, Amai, during the enlarged meeting of Ukwuani APC stakeholders and leaders, moved the motion for Tilije’s adoption and acceptance as the party’s LGA Political Leader.
The motion, seconded by Chief Chiekem Daphey, was unanimously endorsed by the general house, citing Tilije’s unwavering support for human capital and infrastructural development in both Ukwuani and the APC.
The meeting, convened by Ukwuani LGA APC Vice Chairman, Mr. Patrick Omili, had in attendance key political figures, including Hon. CSP Ajede, Executive Chairman of Ukwuani LGA; Vice Chairman Madam Nkechi Echigbue; Sir Fidelis Okenmor Tilije JP, Commissioner for Finance, Delta State; Rt. Hon. Ochor C.
