
OGBE-IJOH/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has praised the visionary and unifying leadership of His Royal Majesty, Pere Couple Markson Oromoni, Monbene III, the Pere Ama-Okosu of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom, as the monarch marked his 10th coronation anniversary.
Speaking at the anniversary celebration on Friday, the Governor, represented by the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, described the monarch’s reign as a remarkable era of peace, unity, and development for both the kingdom and the state.
Oborevwori commended the Pere’s “exceptional leadership characterized by extraordinary acumen, wisdom, and allegiance to the well-being of his people,” noting that over the past decade, he had strengthened unity among his subjects and fostered mutual understanding with neighbouring communities.
He credited the monarch’s commitment to dialogue and conflict resolution for sustaining peace and stability in the area, a feat he said had attracted much-needed development.
“Your Royal Majesty, your visionary leadership has brought us to this milestone, and we have confidence in your ability to navigate the complexities of the future. Like previous administrations, this government will continue to work with you to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and create a more prosperous and harmonious Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom,” the Governor said.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to traditional institutions and inclusive growth, Oborevwori urged the people of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom and Deltans at large to uphold the values of peace, unity, and cooperation. He also called on leaders across clans and communities to consolidate the gains of the past decade and confront emerging challenges with wisdom and innovation.
“We should embrace our diversity and leverage our collective strengths and talents to drive growth and development. As we celebrate this 10th anniversary of resilience, strength, determination, and progress, we are reminded of the enduring spirit of unity and cooperation among Deltans,” he added.
The Governor further described the monarch as a beacon of hope and inspiration whose tireless service has advanced the welfare of his people and promoted peace and stability.
“Your Majesty, you are a beacon of hope and inspiration to our people. May Almighty God continue to guide and bless you, as we look forward to many more years of peace, progress, and prosperity under your reign,” he declared.
The celebration drew dignitaries, traditional rulers, community leaders, and indigenes from across Nigeria, who gathered to honour the milestone in the history of the Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom.
