APC Delta Growing Stronger, United Under Oborevwori’s Leadership — Oghenesivbe

Director-General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe,

ASABA/Nigeria: Director-General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State is growing stronger, more vibrant, and remains united under the leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

Dr. Oghenesivbe gave the assurance on Friday in Asaba during TREND FM’s flagship live public affairs programme, TREND TALK, where he emphasized that there is no division between “old” and “new” members of the APC in the state. He noted that the party’s constitution recognizes full membership for all, without any form of status distinction or internal dichotomy.

Reacting to questions on the absence of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege at the recent APC stakeholders’ meeting held at the State Banquet Hall in Asaba, Oghenesivbe dismissed speculations of factionalization within the party. He said Senator Omo-Agege fully recognizes Elder Omeni Sobotie as the undisputed State Chairman of the party, adding that the unity among members remains solid and unshaken.

He reiterated that the party will continue to thrive under the guidance of Governor Oborevwori, whom he described as a father figure and unifying leader, while urging all party faithful to work together in harmony and shun divisive tendencies.

“Politics is a game of numbers, and what we witnessed at the stakeholders’ meeting in Asaba clearly demonstrates that APC Delta is a united and bubbling political family,” Oghenesivbe said. “The large turnout of stakeholders and political heavyweights shows our growing strength and unity.”

He added that Governor Oborevwori bears no grudges against anyone and is focused on consolidating the gains of the party. According to him, the success of any political party depends more on numerical strength, strategic organization, and collective participation than on moral or sentimental factors.

“There are no new or old APC members in our great party. Once you joined through the open political movement in April this year and completed the online registration, you became a full member of APC,” he said. “The structures we met on ground remain intact and functional from the unit level to the state level, with Elder Omeni Sobotie as our Chairman.”

He stressed that as the sitting governor, Sheriff Oborevwori is the recognized leader of APC in Delta State, in line with established political practice nationwide. “The governor leads, and others follow — including past and former governors, elected lawmakers, political appointees, party executives, and members across the three senatorial districts,” he added.

Oghenesivbe also dispelled insinuations that Senator Ovie Omo-Agege’s absence at the stakeholders’ meeting was a sign of discontent, describing such assumptions as baseless. “It’s too early to attach any negative meaning to Senator Agege’s absence. He remains a respected stakeholder in the party, and he will speak in due time as we approach the election season,” he explained.

The Bureau Chief expressed optimism that APC Delta is well-positioned for victory in the 2027 general elections, noting that both President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori enjoy widespread support due to their performance and popularity.

“APC Delta is poised for victory in 2027. The political vibes across the state point to the fact that President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori will coast to victory again, given their proven leadership and the people’s confidence in their vision,” Oghenesivbe assured.
