
UMUTU/Nigeria: The families of Late Chief Aghauno Dike of Amai and Late Okwa Ojo Obianukor of Umutu, both in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State, have formally announced the burial arrangements for their matriarch, Late Chief (Mrs.) Margaret Ojo Obianukor (née Aghauno), who passed on at the age of 96.
A statement signed by her eldest son and former member of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. (Dr.) Alphonsus Chukwutem Ojo, outlined the program of events marking the final rites of passage for the revered nonagenarian.
According to the statement, the funeral ceremonies will commence on Friday, November 21, 2025, with a Service of Songs at 4:00 p.m. at the family compound, located at No. 60 Igili Road, Umutu, Ukwuani LGA, Delta State.
The Funeral Service will follow on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Umutu Mixed Secondary School, after which interment will take place at the family compound. A grand reception for guests will subsequently be held at the same school premises.
A Thanksgiving Service in honour of the late matriarch is scheduled for Sunday, November 23, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Umutu, while In-laws’ Greetings will take place on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the family compound.
Hon. Ojo, on behalf of the family, expressed heartfelt appreciation to friends, associates, and well-wishers for their prayers, goodwill, and support during their period of grief, and invited them to join in celebrating a life well lived.
He described his late mother, Chief (Mrs.) Margaret Ojo Obianukor, as a devout Christian, a respected community leader, and a compassionate mother who dedicated her life to service, faith, and love for humanity.
“Until her passing, our mother was a beacon of faith and humility, who touched countless lives through her kindness and wisdom. She lived gracefully and left a legacy of love and service that will forever remain in our hearts. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace,” Hon. Ojo stated.
