ASABA/Nigeria: Former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, OON, has congratulated the Asagba of Asaba, Prof. Epiphany Azinge, SAN, OON, on his 70th birthday, describing the milestone as a remarkable celebration of a life devoted to knowledge, leadership, and service to humanity.
In a goodwill message issued on Thursday, November 13, 2025, Elumelu expressed gratitude to God for the monarch’s life, noting that his seven decades on earth reflect profound experiences and exceptional contributions to society. “Your Royal Majesty’s 70th birthday anniversary is a momentous occasion celebrating a lifetime of achievements, love, and dedication. We join you in celebrating the love of God on you,” he stated.
Elumelu extolled the Asagba as a model of humility and intellect, commending his distinguished career in the legal profession. He described Prof. Azinge as a legal luminary whose rise to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and conferment as an Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) stand as testaments to his professional excellence.
He highlighted the monarch’s global contributions, referencing his tenure as Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies and his service as a Judge of the Commonwealth Secretariat Arbitral Tribunal, roles he said underscore Prof. Azinge’s international reputation and scholarly influence.
The former federal lawmaker noted that the Asagba continues to embody visionary leadership, serving as a custodian of the cultural heritage and traditions of the Asaba Kingdom and the wider Anioma Nation. According to Elumelu, the royal father remains a unifying figure whose guidance and wisdom inspire both the young and old.
Speaking on behalf of his family and political associates across Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency and Delta State, Elumelu said it was a privilege to celebrate a revered father figure. “It gives us great joy and fulfillment joining the world over to celebrate a Father figure who has continued to demonstrate strength, passion, and love to the people,” he said.
