ABUJA/Nigeria: Chief of Staff to Senator Ned Nwoko, Dr. Michael Nwoko, has refuted recent social media claims made by one Mr. Chucks Nwoko, describing the allegations against the Nwoko royal family of Idumuje-Ugboko and Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko as false, reckless, and mischievous.
In a statement issued to journalists, Dr. Nwoko said the comments by Mr. Chucks Nwoko were ill-informed and deliberately crafted to drag a respected royal lineage and a distinguished public figure into needless controversy. He stressed that the Nwoko royal family completely dissociates itself from the “misleading and unfounded assertions.”
According to him, Mr. Chucks Nwoko is neither a member of the Nwoko royal dynasty nor connected to Idumuje-Ugboko by ancestry or genealogical history. “Mr. Chucks Nwoko’s father hails from the western part of Nigeria, and by every known standard of tradition, genealogy, and descent, he has no familial or ancestral tie to the Nwoko dynasty,” he said.
Describing the individual’s claims as audacious and laughable, Dr. Nwoko said it was improper for him to comment on matters concerning a royal family to which he has no connection. He also dismissed the video circulated online by the accuser as malicious, suggesting it stemmed either from ignorance or external influences determined to tarnish Senator Nwoko’s reputation.
“This is a classic case of someone seeking cheap relevance by throwing stones at a name far greater than his imagination can comprehend,” he stated.
Dr. Nwoko described Senator Ned Munir Nwoko as one of Delta State’s most distinguished sons, whose record of service and philanthropy continues to speak for itself. He highlighted the senator’s investments in scholarship schemes, youth empowerment, community infrastructure, and sports development, which he said have transformed countless lives.
He noted that in the 10th Senate, Senator Nwoko had already sponsored more than 31 bills and moved several motions addressing critical national issues, underscoring his reputation as one of the chamber’s most consistent and purposeful voices. “His approach to public service is deliberate and deeply rooted in purpose. He is focused, visionary, and guided by an unflinching belief that leadership is a moral duty, not a platform for theatrics,” Dr. Nwoko added.
While asserting that such distractions would not derail the senator from his commitments, Dr. Nwoko said those who thrive on falsehoods ultimately fade into irrelevance while men of vision continue to build lasting legacies. He reaffirmed that the Nwoko family remains united and proud of Senator Nwoko’s achievements.
“He speaks only for himself and perhaps for those who feed his delusions, but certainly not for the Nwoko dynasty or the people of Idumuje-Ugboko,” Dr. Nwoko said of the accuser.
He emphasized that Distinguished Senator Ned Nwoko remains steadfast in his mandate to deliver effective representation and advance the welfare of his constituents. “He is not a man easily swayed by noise or distracted by mischief. His work is visible in the schools he has built, the bills he has sponsored, the opportunities he has created, and the countless lives he has touched. Those who build, as the Distinguished Senator continues to do, will always have their legacy rooted in the lives they’ve transformed,” he stated.
