ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State Government has been commended for the successful completion of the 20.95-kilometre Trans-Warri–Ode-Itsekiri Road, a landmark project that includes 15 bridges and marks a major infrastructural breakthrough for the Itsekiri nation and the state at large.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Delta State Commissioner for Special Duties (Government House), Dr. Ifeanyi Osoza, praised Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for what he described as exemplary leadership driven by sincerity, inclusiveness, and a deep commitment to uplifting communities.
Osoza noted that the completion of the road—first awarded 19 years ago—represents a historic milestone achieved under Governor Oborevwori’s people-centred administration. He said the project’s delivery has transformed a long-standing aspiration into reality, demonstrating the governor’s resolve to fulfil promises and drive equitable development across the state.
“This achievement stands as a landmark victory for the Itsekiri nation and a shining testament to Governor Oborevwori’s dedication to equity, inclusiveness, and responsible stewardship of public trust,” Osoza said. “A promise made is now a promise fulfilled.”
He added that the state owes gratitude to God for granting the strength, wisdom, and favour that enabled the realisation of such a monumental project.
The Commissioner expressed optimism that the completed road and bridges—described as one of the state’s most significant infrastructural undertakings—will be formally commissioned in the first quarter of next year.
Osoza further stated that Governor Oborevwori has once again demonstrated that purposeful leadership can transform communities and impact generations, reaffirming public confidence in the ongoing infrastructural drive of the administration.
