ABUJA/Nigeria: As Christians around the world celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has extended warm Christmas greetings to Deltans at home and in the diaspora, urging them to embrace the enduring values of love, hope and renewal.
In a Christmas message issued through his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, the Speaker described the yuletide as a season that reminds humanity of sacred virtues essential for peaceful coexistence and collective progress.
Guwor expressed appreciation to the people of Delta State for their sacrifices and continued support for the state government led by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, noting that unity and cooperation remain critical to sustaining development across the state.
“The season reminds each and every one of us of the sacred virtues of love, hope and renewal,” the Speaker said, adding that these values must be consciously upheld to build a society where every citizen can thrive in peace and progress.
The Speaker, who also serves as National Treasurer of the Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly, urged Deltans to remain resilient and faithful, stressing that collective commitment to shared values would help steer the state towards a brighter future.
“May our shared spirit of resilience and faith guide us toward a brighter future,” he said.
On behalf of the Delta State Legislature, Guwor wished all Deltans a joyful Christmas celebration and a prosperous New Year, expressing optimism that the yuletide would usher in renewed growth and prosperity for the state.
He further called for collective action and sustained unity among citizens, noting that building a stronger and more prosperous Delta State requires the contribution and goodwill of all.
