ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on Wednesday extended warm congratulations to the President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF), Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei, as he marked his 57th birth anniversary on February 25.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the Governor described Ochei as an accomplished politician, astute businessman and committed philanthropist whose contributions to the growth and development of Delta State remain enduring and impactful.
Governor Oborevwori recalled Ochei’s tenure as Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, noting that he demonstrated exemplary leadership and legislative dexterity while presiding over the affairs of the 5th Assembly.
According to the Governor, Ochei’s public service record reflects a firm commitment to democratic ideals, grassroots empowerment and sustainable development initiatives that strengthened governance in the state.
He also highlighted Ochei’s service at the national level as former Executive Director, Cabotage Services at the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), where he brought his experience and administrative acumen to bear in advancing reforms and reinforcing institutional structures within Nigeria’s maritime sector.
The Governor further commended Ochei’s current role as President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation, describing his leadership as visionary and instrumental in revitalising and promoting the game of tennis across the country.
Oborevwori characterised the former Speaker as a dependable and influential stakeholder in Delta State politics, whose counsel, support and wealth of experience remain invaluable to the state’s development trajectory.
“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I congratulate my dear brother and friend, Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei, on the occasion of his 57th birth anniversary,” the Governor stated.
“As you celebrate today, we thank God for your life of service and accomplishments. We pray that His grace will continue to be evident in all your endeavours, granting you good health, wisdom and greater opportunities to serve humanity.”
Governor Oborevwori wished Ochei many more years of impactful leadership and fulfilment, noting that his legacy of service continues to inspire a new generation of leaders within Delta State and beyond.
